Techie Tuesday: Evernote

It's been a while since I've updated you guys on my favorite technology. This week I'm featuring one of my favorite ways to stay organized, Evernote. Evernote is a do it all application that you can access from any device. It's a word processor, ultimate checklist, notebook extraordinare.  Not only can you do everything from write an essay to save a recipe you can also add photos, audio, or other word attachments.  While getting ready for the new school year I created a few notes to help me prepare. I added a shopping list, decor inspiration, and preliminary lesson plans. You also have the option to organize your notes into categories from your computer. Evernote is incredibly user friendly and unlike other word processors is completely FREE!  Give it a shot and tell me what you think.

It seems like everyone get's fitness crazy over the summer months, obsessed with getting the perfect bikini bod. Well if you are a fitness junkie and you're not using MyFitnessPal... what are you using? MyFitnessPal boasts 50 million users that have lost weight using their app, but it's not a weight loss plan. It's an all in one accountability app and it all starts with your personal profile. It starts with a few easy questions which the app uses to set your daily nutritional goals including calories, protein, and carbohydrates. You can also customize these goals. For example if you are diabetic you can adjust the amount of sugar you are allowed to intake each day. The next step is to log your daily input and output. MyFitnessPal's inventory contains foods from every brand and nearly every restaurant, and if you can't find it you can always add it yourself. photo credit: instagram.com/shewalksin I just recently bought and read my first ebook. I know I'm super late to hop on the bandwagon, but I was very hesitant to give ebooks a try. First of all I felt that the integrity of books may be in jeopardy. Making the switch from print to tech made me feel like I was neglecting the classic pastime. Second there is just something about holding a book in your hands. It feels like a precious treasure. While I still maintain a lot of these feelings I finally saw some of the advantages to ebooks. Portability : While reading the Divergent series I found myself carrying these large books in my bag whenever I went out. I wanted to be able to read whenever I got some downtime, but I always had my iPad as well in case I needed to work on something. Switching to ebooks meant all I needed was my iPad which minimized the weight on my shoulders, literally! Cost : The cost of ebooks hasn't always been a benefit, but recently costs have gone do...
