Things I'm Pinning Over

Image
Favorite Organization I usually end up throwing all my phone cases in a drawer. I thought this was a great way to organize and display them. Favorite Eat I'm a bit of a coffeeholic, so I was all over these coffee popsicles. Favorite Beauty These contouring images have been floating around for a while, but I found this one to be the most basic and easy application. Favorite Abode I am a minimalist at heart and my heart swooned when I saw this tiny camper. Perfect for one person or couple with everything you need and nothing you don't. Favorite Nook I love the look of this cozy coffee shop.  To see the original pins and many more visit Morning Lux on Pinterest

Lips for Fall

Vampy Red Try MAC's mineralize rich lipstick in Lush Life. Raspberry Try the color Prune in Fire in YSL's Rouge Volumpte Shine collection. Plum Try the Be Legendary Lipstick in Plum Scene by Smashbox. Matte Red Try Tarte's Lipsurgence in the color Fiery.

To Pledge or Not to Pledge

Image
Hello college goers, hopefully this post doesn't come to you to late. Today I'm going to discuss the decision to pledge a sorority. For some people this choice may be an easy one, but for others it's hard to decide if the commitment is worth your time. Here are a few things to consider before pledging. 1. Why do you want to join? If you are looking for a strong group of girls to socialize and bond with you may or may not be making the right decision. I have found that despite having the best of intentions sometimes friendships simply don't last in a sorority. Make sure you are joining a group of girls that you genuinely like. If you are joining a sorority just for the popularity or the parties you may find your academics slipping and your shame building. 2. What are your goals for the future? Sororities can be a great way to network. Look into each sorority's philanthropy, annual events, and major partnerships. This can help you make the final decision. 3....

Sweater Crush

Image
I have to admit I've been a little nostalgic for Fall lately. A girl can only withstand the Florida heat for so long, and Fall fashion has always been my favorite. This year I have a serious trend crush on oversized sweaters. This trend has been around for a while, but it just seems to get better each year. These sweaters are perfect for a late night walk on the beach or curling up with a bowl of popcorn and netflix. Weekend in Review

Image
Summer is almost over, but don't fret fall is right around the corner. To celebrate my friend and I decided to go ahead and break out the pumpkin. We decided to make pumpkin rice krispie treats. I forgot to take pictures of the process, but here is the original recipe from  Pinterest . I spent a lot of the weekend preparing to go back to work by expanding my dress collection. Here is a preview of the haul. Be on the lookout for a more detailed post. Saturdays are for sangria! I also couldn't resist trying these cappuccino flavored potato chips. I'm a sucker for good advertising and Lays does it every time with their wild flavors. I was pleasantly surprised by this flavor. The sweet flavor is best in moderation though. Hope you guys had a fabulous weekend. Monday's posts may start to look different now that I'm back at work, but I'm going to try to continue to post at least 3 times a week. If you are headed back to school this week good luck luxe...

Dorm Decor: Drab to Fab

Image
When you first step into your dorm room on campus you might be shocked by the drab appearance. Unless you've arrived at Fancy U your dorm probably has nothing more than the basics. This first look can be a real downer, but there are a few quick ways to take your dorm from drab to fab and make it feel more like home. Add Color Painting probably isn't an option, but there are a lot of other ways to add color. Try a cute bedspread, a patterned rug, or drapes. Brighten Up A dimly lit room is a real drag. Brighten up with some fairy lights for a romantic, dreamy feel. Designate Your Space Separate your space from your roommates with curtains. It will give you a sense of privacy during those all nighters.  Make Your Mark Decorate the walls with things that reflect your personality. Use command hooks and sticky tacky to avoid damaged walls.

Professional Footwear: Fashion and Comfort

Image
When it comes to professional footwear it seems like you have to make a choice, fashion or comfort? Especially for those of us on our feet all day it can be a difficult decision. Now you don't have to choose. Here are some shoes that will make a statement without the sacrifice. Stay Flat Toms Flats by samantha-k89 featuring TOMS Ditching the heel is an easy way to get relief. When it comes to flats I love Toms. The classic canvas is perfect for skater skirts and dresses, but they also have a great selection of sandals and ballet flats. Plus when you buy a pair of Toms you also buy a pair of shoes for someone in need. Comfort and class, what more can you want? Wedge It Crocs by samantha-k89 featuring wedge shoes You don't have to lose height for comfort. A wedge heel is the perfect option for those that want a little lift. Wedges offer more support and stability than a typical heel. My new favorite wedge is a pair of crocs. They have a great selection...

Techie Tuesday: Evernote

Image
It's been a while since I've updated you guys on my favorite technology. This week I'm featuring one of my favorite ways to stay organized, Evernote. Evernote is a do it all application that you can access from any device. It's a word processor, ultimate checklist, notebook extraordinare.  Not only can you do everything from write an essay to save a recipe you can also add photos, audio, or other word attachments.  While getting ready for the new school year I created a few notes to help me prepare. I added a shopping list, decor inspiration, and preliminary lesson plans. You also have the option to organize your notes into categories from your computer. Evernote is incredibly user friendly and unlike other word processors is completely FREE!  Give it a shot and tell me what you think.
