The Search for the Perfect Panty

Image
Sometimes it feels like I'm the only girl in the world who cares more about comfort than fashion, at least when it comes to my underwear. All the lacey thongs in the world won't make me happy. My favorite undies are seamless. They are a perfect fit under clothes and never seem to bunch up in the worst areas. It seems like I'm on a never ending search for this perfect panty. Over time I've found a few favorites, but it seems like they are always discontinued or made unrecognizable with crazy patterns. My first undie obsession started at Victoria's Secret. They had a great line of yoga panties in their Pink line that I couldn't get enough of. They were seamless, comfortable, and invisible under your clothes. After falling in love I decided to go back and get more, but I found the only shades they made were neon or printed with some inappropriate phrase on the crotch. I'll just say that's not my cup of tea. My next find was at Marshall's. I'v

It's that time again! Here are my Pinterest favorites of the week. Favorite Hair I am loving pastel hair for spring. I can't wait until school is out so I can try out this awesome dipped look. This DIY is perfect for using your garage as a makeshift mudroom. Favorite Edible I am in love with macaroons. I had never even tried one until a few years back, but since then I've been smitten. I love these pastel colored ones for spring. Most Adorable If you saw my Toddler Fashion post you know I have a love hate relationship with these pins, but this little angel has better hair than I do. I just had to post. I'm hoping to have more posts for you next week. Let me know if there's something you'd like to see.

Get Rid of a Cold Naturally

Image
I have been dealing with a nasty bug the past few days (which is why I haven't been posting), but I'm finally starting to feel better. When it comes to colds I've never been big on all the medicinal methods. Not only do I hate putting all that junk in my body, but cold medicines have always made me feel like a drunk. When it comes to over the counter medicines, you end up only treating the symptoms. There's no healing remedy for the cold except to boost the immune system, so I make this my goal every time I start to get sick. A little advice, instead of pumping all those unnatural chemicals into your body, try a more natural method. Here's a few tips that will get you through a cold both quickly and safely. 1. Stay Healthy : You'll have to commit to this one now if you want to fend off those cold viruses. Eating healthy and exercising regularly helps your immune system fight off those pesky attackers. 2. Stay Hydrated : You're eating all your veggies

Homemade Vegan Cornbread

Image
This weekend I had a crazy craving for cornbread. Since I'm still on a vegan diet I realized I was going to have to make some changes. So I did some research, made some substitutions, and made this delicious vegan version. It tastes exactly like its non-vegan counterpart, and it's mostly guilt free. Give it a try and tell me what you think! Servings: 9 Ingredients:  1 cup flour 1 cup corn meal 1/4 cup sugar 4 teaspoons baking powder 3/4 teaspoon salt 1 cup soy milk  1/4 cup canola oil Directions: 1) Preheat oven to 450 degrees 2) Spray muffin pan with nonstick cooking spray 3) Whisk dry ingredients together in a medium size bowl 4) Add wet ingredients and beat until smooth (do not over mix) 5) Place mixture in muffin pan filling each cup 3/4 of the way 6) Cook for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean In hindsight I wouldn't have used the baking cups. The bottoms stuck. This earth balance butter i

A Touch of Blush

Image
I've never been a huge fan of the neon colors and tribal prints that so often appear each Spring. However, this year there is one color I'm loving, blush. Blush is the perfect touch of feminity that can be added to any outfit. It's romantic and classic which never goes out of style. These blush trends are great staples that you will find yourself using again and again.

Easy Vegan Meals

Image
Last week I posted all about my vegan adventures. Although it has been a difficult journey I have learned so much along the way. Today I thought I would share some easy vegan meals with you. I don't have a lot of time to cook so many of these are straight from the frozen food aisle. If that's not your thing you may want to consider cooking your meals ahead of time. Many people cook all of their weekly meals on Sunday. However, if you aren't a big cook (or if you just aren't very good at it, like me) these meals will be your easy way out. Breakfast: Oatmeal with peanut butter and brown sugar Cereal and soy milk Breakfast smoothie with strawberries, peanut butter, soy milk or yogurt, and protein powder Snacks: Clif bar Carrots Banana Pita chips and hummus Lunch: PB&J or try an AB&J (almond butter and jelly) Gardein Chick'n Sliders (my current favorite) Tofu and Spinach Ravioli (I can't think of the brand that I usually get, but it&#

A Bedroom that Suits You

Image
Redecorating can be a great way to revamp your living space, but it can also help revive your way of life. The bedroom is a window to the soul. It represents a person's personality. Whether wild and edgy or calm and simple there is a dĂ©cor style for every individual. Expressing that individuality is the best part of the renovation experience. Here are a few examples to help you match your core with the dĂ©cor. Simplistic You don't need much to make you happy. Neutral colors and romantic furnishings will make you feel right at home in your new abode. Take the opportunity to add some antique pieces and a tiny splash of color.     Modern You are always thinking outside of the box. Your bedroom's dark tones and curves will be enough to make Sofia Vergara jealous.     Edgy You're a little rough around the edges. Bring your wild side into the bedroom with lots of color and unique pieces.     Eclectic You've probably gone down this whole p

Trend Crush: Plum it Up!

Image
It's the time of year to put away all the dark colors and bring out the pastels, but there's one color trend I can't seem to pack away... plum. The purple hue has been a major inspiration in redecorating my room. (Don't worry I'll post about it when it's finished). Plum may seem like more of a fall color, but with the right styling you can certainly make this trend last all year. Here are some of my favorite ways to plum it up! Lips Tone down the eye to make this look really pop. Hair You will have to be brave, but you will look smashing. Wedding Accent Even the groom can rock this look. Decor Add a plum accent wall to make a room pop. How would you style plum all year long?
